Top Level Menu Items for Faculties

When viewers are browsing the University of Waterloo web site, they will find it easier to discover the information they require if there is a consistency of navigation, where applicable, across the UW web site.

The Faculty representatives on the UW Web Steering Committee had several meetings to decide on a common set of top level menu items that must appear on every Faculty home page. They agreed upon these items.

Notes

  1. Depending on the particular Faculty, the item Departments/Programs always starts with “Department”, but could take one of a variety of forms, such as:
    Departments/Programs
    Departments/Schools
    Departments/Schools/Programs
  2. There should be an item People under About [Faculty]. There are two principal ways in which users might regard People, - as individuals(e.g. Smith, Jones) or as positions (e.g. Department Chair, Student Liaison) - so structure of this item should be at the discretion of the unit involved.
