You now have the template applied to your pages, but you will still need to "touch" each page.
- You will want to edit and proofread each page, to ensure that the content is still correct, and to add any additional content to each page.
- The page should be spell-checked.
- You will want to add the appropriate left menu text to the page as the topictitle, that is, the "subtitle related to left nav". When you do this, you may find that you will want to delete the first heading on the page.
- Some elements on the page may require "tweaking", because the text width is narrower than on your old pages.
- Some images may require resizing, which can be done in Contribute and Dreamweaver.
- Some tables may be too wide. You can select the table in Dreamweaver or Contribute and set its width to be 95 or 100% in width. However, if you have some very wide tables, this approach may not be feasible. Shrinking a wide table to 100% of the width of the Common Look and Feel text area may simply make your columns so narrow as to be unreadable. In that case, you will need to come up with another solution. One approach would be to use the one page layout instead.
- In addition to spell checking each page, you should check the validity of your XHTML. You can do that at the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) HTML validator site or by using the Developer's Toolbar/menu in the Firefox or Safari browsers. You should carry out the validation as "XHTML 1.0 Transitional.
