Once you have completed all the pages in your site, you need to thoroughly test it.
Start by going through your site page by page, checking all links, and examining format and content as you go. Perform this check on Windows and Mac systems, using a variety of browsers. Check your site using popular browsers such as Internet Explorer, Safari and Firefox. Ask friends and colleagues to test your site. Test it from home, specifically on a modem link if possible. Check what it looks like on various screen resolutions including 800 by 600.
You can download an extension to the Firefox browser called the Web Developer's Toolbar or use Safari's Developer's menu. It contains tools to check your HTML and your links. It also gives you the ability to view your page as it would look at a variety of screen resolutions.
The link checking facility in Firefox lets you check links on a specific page. You can check the links on your entire site at the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) web site.
Very important to make sure your site meets the needs of users with disabilities. Check the resources for more information.
